It’s Starting to Look A lot like Christmas … with Festive Wreaths!

December10

You can start with a beautiful double faced balsam wreath.  Then let the season lead you… Red velvet traditional ribbon with gold backing, differently shaped pinecones to snow or not to snow, red berries, red mm balls, gold rattan orbs, white birch branches, angel vine, red cardinals, festive printed wired sheer ribbon, permanent botanicals, flowers, pearlized mm balls, sparkly curled ting ting, fun packages in metallic paper on picks, sugared fruit, etc! Let your imagination SOAR!!!  Before you know it – you have a festive wreath to hang on your door for the season!  Add some fresh white pine roping to finish off the look, and don’t forget bows to match. Now go ahead and invite friends over for hot chocolate before December gets REALLY crazy : )

Fresh Balsam Wreaths Decorated

December8

Hi! It’s been a while since I’ve blogged…I have been having fun with the Christmas season, even though I haven’t blogged on and on about it! ha  Attached are some pics of a couple of wreaths done for two different clients. I  really love transforming a fresh wreath into a focal point for a front door. I love oversized wreaths or swags on a front door in our cold NJ weather. They last long(if your front door misses the  sun all day especially). I started mine but will add to it when I get back to NJ and ‘nest’ again at my ranch there. Mine is a winter ice theme this year…I haven’t done that before on my own door so I will have fun. If you are having trouble getting started with your own front door decoration, find a ribbon that you love and work around that. Add things to the wreath that match the ribbon…natural looking raffia looks great with snowed pinecones and natural birch branches…maybe some angel vine and faux cardinals…..see what I mean?…here are two I finished before running here to SC to finish my stay here. BTW It’s been in the 20′s here and people are freaking out!!!! I love the flip-flops and down vest look I’m seeing on folks….I guess I really DO love winter….

Iced edged white poinsettias with sugared pears and opalescent ribbon shadowing cranberry velvet gold backed traditional ribbon. Iced ting adds a bit of whimsy all around plus glass balls to finish this pretty design off.

Lime green faux ferns added all around to compliment the NEW ribbon out this year with lime and blue accents, sugared apples and pomegranites, lime, red and gold berry sprays, cardinals in angel vine nests complete this seasonal design.
