I had to try a new design for my door this season! I used a long gold washed ribbed wall pocket I purchased at a ‘Home Show’ years ago. I added preserved leaves in browns and the red/ yellow variety. The spiky pieces coming out the right side of the design are from a fall bush I chose at Michael’s Craft Store. I used fall silk flowers: mums as well as sunflowers. Included in this design are faux gourds, dried cattails and some birch branches. I finished off this piece with two swoops of angel hair and a matching loop of ribbon. I’m enjoying this on my front door! Try a fall door design for your front door this season!

Green sponge mushrooms, bamboo, faux berries, a moss orb, spagnum moss and fresh boxwood and eucalyptus make up this design for outside. I’ve added hot pink ting grass in the shape of a heart in the center for Valentine’s Day. ( It’s hard to see it well in this photo , sorry). I will remove that cluster weds when Valentine’s Day is over and still have a cool design for my door. I could easily add kelly green raffia or a crazy ribbon for St. Patty’s day and just keep customizing this design for each holiday! Wall pocket baskets are great for the front door. I purchased this wicker wall pocket at a Dollar store near my house! I’m always thrilled when I don’t have to spend a lot of $ to play with a design! Try a wall pocket design today for YOUR front door to welcome your guests (or just to cheer yourself during these gray months!).

Isn’t it great that when your ‘kids’ grow up their gifts get better? My son, Taylor, (The very talented other 1/2 of www.aevumfresh.com), went on a trip to Columbia,South America last month. He brought me back this cool eclectic work of wall art made by a local artist there. It is all pieces of actual flower or plant life that is grown there, placed in such a way as to create a scene of some sort. Here we have a pathway and big sky with birds flying…all made out of rose petals, cedar, looks like pieces of corn flower etc! I LOVE IT!!!! I hung it up right away on a little wall here in our apartment in SC to brighten my mornings, as it is the first thing I see when I turn on the kitchen light! There are so many creative people playing with flowers all over the world!!! Have a great day!
